FROST BOMB 🥶

Super easy high Single Target and AOE caster dps spec.
Suitable even for new players getting into Mythic dungeons or Raiding thanks to one simple macro!

1. Spells and Talents

Starting with Spells, these are what you need to pick up

Frostbolt - your main damaging ability
Frost Bomb - this will be given to you by your RE
Ice Lance - use only while moving, getting knocked up in the air, or while feared
Blizzard - underrated spell for aoe in this build, good to have
Frozen Orb - for more and lots of aoe damage
Frostbrand Weapon - enhances your weapon with frost increasing your frost spellpower
Molten Armor - kind of meta in every caster build
Fel Armor - same as Molten Armor

These spells are situational and optional, but i recommend picking them up regardless

Shimmer - in some encounters or situations better than Demonic Leap, since this triggers no global cooldown and apparently you can use Shimmer while casting, but it is currently not working, also the cooldown is 5 seconds shorter.
Demonic Leap - good pick for Hyjal raid, especially Archimonde. You can leap twice in short period, getting you far than Shimmer or Blink in that case.
Cleanse - both of these are self explanatory
Dispel Curse /
Cloak of Shadows - this spell is must have, rarely switching this for something else
Misdirection - as this build creates somehow very much threat, this is good to have and put on your tanks when the situation needs it
Wind Shear - situational, but good to have just in case
Brilliance Aura - for regenerating mana to you and your group
Fade or Feign Death - reducing / dropping your threat
Shadow Ward
Fire Ward
Invisibility - good to have for refreshing cooldowns for your potions in combat, then in Mythic + dungeons for skip / timed runs
Solar Beam - comes handy in Hyjal, Black Temple for clearing packs between bosses, good pick regardless!

Situational and Optional talents to pick up

Torment the Weak - this is working only on the bosses if the target is affected by some sort of attack speed slow, since you cant movement slow bosses ( Thunder Clap, or certain Paladin talents ect.)
Mental Strength - using this instead of Arcane Mind , because the magic damage reduction
Magic Absorption - good talent to pick up in magic damage heavy fights
Enduring Winter - i dont like this talent at all, but if your team struggles with mana you can pick this up
Death's Grasp - if you are missing hit, this is the best talent to pick up
Enlightenment - if you have good gear and you need haste, this is nice to pick up since it provides extra intellect and spirit on top
Elemental Weapons - when you play with main hand and one hand, this is definitely the pick
Totemic Focus - when you have bad gear and its hard for you to get crit and haste, this is a nice talent to start with
Shadowstep - definitely must have for Archimonde in Hyjal, not needed, but comes very handy for every other boss
Demonic Knowledge - if you feel like not using Water elemental, you can combine this talent with Summon Imp, but i recommend Water Elemental over this(will explain later)
Pain Suppression - good to pick up to support your team and your tanks
Winter's Chill - 1 point in this should be enough to stack anti-healing for mobs/bosses and help a little bit with reducing it
Elusiveness - pick this talent up 2/2 on Gurtogg in Black Temple and 1/2 for Illidan on higher difficulties, good talent to have regardless !

2. Mystic Enchantments

First of all we going to start with the normal RE setup. This setup of REs is standard for progressing any kind of content.
Frost Bomb - your Legendary RE
Freezing Blood - this RE allows you to cast Frostbolt instantly with clever cancelaura macro that you can find in macro section. Running this gives us extra Frost Bomb damage resulting in dps increase
Biting Cold
Stay Frosty
Cold as Ice - 3x running this RE lowers our Frost Bomb cooldown to 8 seconds combined with talents
Fingers of Frost - 3x
Piercing Ice
Celestial Focus - haste is king
Molten Fury - 2x
Hasty Cold Blood - 3x reducing Cold Blood cd = more instant Frostbolts thanks to Freezing Blood RE

If you are missing hit rating badly, your RE setup will look like this.

Frost Bomb

Stay Frosty
Cold as Ice - 3x
Piercing Ice
Fingers of Frost - 3x

Hasty Cold Blood - 3x
Precision
Balance of Power - you can always remove one to replace it with one of the Molten Fury REs if you are closing the hit gap

If you dont care about execute phase, choose any of the Frost % increasing REs like Honed Ice.

Honorable Mentions and Optional, Situational REs for you to pick. Always replace Stay Frosty
Eternal Water - personally i dont like this RE at all, but if you are missing haste and you like controlling your Elemental(most of the time he is bugged and running all over the place or not attacking) then go on.
Absolute Zero - if you feel like doing aoe today, might be a good pick for Mythics or very heavy aoe encounters (requires Frost Nova spell)
Shatter - saw some people using this, personally i dont think it works very well and i dont think it beats Stay Frosty, but hey, if you want?

3. Stats

Intellect Allocation ofcourse
Your priority is 14% Hit, sort this out first!
After getting 45% self buffed crit rating, stack haste and spellpower. Crit depends on your Fingers of Frost procs, fully buffed you should be at or above 50% ideally. Haste is king!
Not much more to say here,lets continue..

4. Pros and Cons

+ high Single Target damage
+ high AOE damage
+ new people friendly
+ suitable for Mythic + dungeons aswell as raids
+ decent survivability thanks to almost 100% uptime on Ice Barrier

- heavy on epic spell / talent crystal gems

5. Itemization

Pick up any items with spellpower / crit / haste and hit if you are starting up. Basically any caster gear
When you progress further in the game, clearing actuall T6 content, get your hands on Mage T6 5-set(Tempest) as soon as possible as this will be your Best in Slot
Starting off with my gear setup. In this setup with ideal talent combination im not using any haste cooldowns and my Frostbolt gets to 1 second cast time. This gear setup is also the standard to go for ! almost Best in Slot missing just couple items.
(Item Set #-867) - 5set - +5 Haste + 6 Spellpower gems, +12 Crit Rating and 3% increased crit damage bonus gem, 2x 6 spellpower + 7 Stamina gem
Loop of Cursed Bones - +12 Haste neck enchant, +5 Haste + 6 Spellpower gem
Shadowcaster's Drape - +5 Haste + 6 Spellpower gem, +15 Spellpower
Blessed Adamantite Bracers - +12 Spellpower gem
Mana Attuned Band - +12 Spellpower Enchant
Cord of Braided Troll Hair - 2x +12 Spellpower gem, Hulking Belt Buckle
Footpads of Madness - +10 Hit Rating + 10 Crit Rating
Flawless Band of the Eternal Sage - +12 Spell Power gem
Hex Shrunken Head
Tome of Fiery Redemption
Tempest of Chaos - Formula: Enchant Weapon - Overpowering Void Blasting
Chronicle of Dark Secrets
Wand of the Forgotten Star - + Haste rating

Optional items and combinations and Best in Slots :

Lamp of Peaceful Radiance - good pick if you dont have Chronicle
The Taskmaster - good combination with Tempest of Chaos, recommend to run Elemental Weapons talent and Scroll of Enchant Weapon - Void Blasting on it, might be BIS
Feet Best in Slot
Boots of Oceanic Fury
Trinket Best in Slot
The Skull of Gul'dan
Wand Best in Slot
Wand of Prismatic Focus

6. Consumables

Charged Seared Wontons - your best food untill you have enough haste to not need this
Charged Wizard Wontons - the go-to food for casters, if you dont need the haste, eat this
Blackened Basilisk - if you cant get your hands on the High Risk foods, this is good starting alternative
Charged Blackened Roast - you will need this in Black Temple on higher difficulties. Good to have for Mother, Council ..
Destruction Potion - this is self explanatory

Optional consumables:
all of this stacks on top of your food and buffs
Bloodthistle
Runn Tum Tuber Surprise
Scroll of Intellect VI
Dried Fruit Rations -horde/alliance versions Dried Mushroom Rations

7. Macros

This will be your main macro to spam. Easy for new players , comfortable for veterans.

This next macro comes very handy with our damage rotations, 2 variations

8. Rotations and Additional Stuff

In this build we will be using 2 rotations. As usuall standard one and advanced one for spiking your damage higher and situational use of our rotations.

Start with Ice Barrier into your trinket / racial and your Destruction Potion and Arcane Power PRE-PULL
Cast your Summon Water Elemental PRE-PULL aswell
pop Icy Veins , if you need the haste
Use Frost Bomb into your water elemental macro* into Frostbolt macro, repeat Frost Bomb and Frostbolt macro
use Cold Snap to refresh your cooldowns when the situation needs it
use Frozen Orb for aoe

Start with Ice Barrier into your trinket / racial and your Destruction Potion and Arcane Power PRE-PULL
Cast your Summon Water Elemental PRE-PULL aswell
pop Icy Veins , if you need the haste
Use Frost Bomb into your water elemental macro* into Frostbolt macro
use Cold Snap to instantly refresh the cd of your Frost Bomb after exploding , aswell as when Deep Freeze is on cooldown (or Frozen Orb )
Continue with your Frost Bomb and Frostbolt macro rotation

Ice Lance - use this only while moving, getting knocked up in the air, while feared, it is not part of the rotation

try to use Invisibility, if you are running it, every time after or with your Destruction Potion to reset its cooldown

* - using Water Elementals Freeze spell at the start, gives us Fingers of Frost proc instantly. This way we can use Deep Freeze without waiting for FoF to proc , use elementals Freeze spell, when you cant proc FoF while your Deep Freeze is off cd

Additional Things

I will quickly go into picking up your race or what race suits this build for maximum performance as my additional stuff, aswell as professions :

RACE

- Good if you are really bad with your hit rating
- Intellect racial is not bad
- best in slot race with its spellpower increasing racial
- best in slot race with its haste increasing racial
- silence and mana regenerating racial is not bad

PROFESSION

- best in slot profession for this build, can enchant rings with spellpower
- good to have in combination with to make yourself potions and flasks
- you can make yourself gems and one more powerful gem in addition
- good to have for new players to craft some starting gear
- i think with engineering you can craft with High Risk recipes some cool gadgets to power your wand and neck slot
- can cook raiding food with recipes
