INTRODUCTION -
Hey guys! Thanks for checking out my build guide! If you haven't already seen my videos showcasing this build, feel free to check out the links posted above.
To Summarize - My Divine Blademaster (parry tank) build plays like a Retribution Paladin and picks up its defensive capabilities from talents. I won't post the exact tooltip from every spell/item but I will make sure to include any important notes relevant to the build !!
STARTING OUT -
Unfortunately, the Divine Blademaster parry tank is not an easy build to roll in a single prestige run. It uses many talents that compound off one another to achieve the level of survivability and passive healing displayed in my YouTube videos. It will most likely take several hundred rerolls for the build to start feeling "good".
At Level 1- Pick up Righteous Fury, Crusader Strike, Consecration, and Victory Rush.
Ability Cards- Divine Storm, Blessing of Sanctuary, Seal of Command, Exorcist's Slash
Talent Cards- Tactical Mastery, One With The Light, Mental Quickness, Divine Blademaster, Divinity, Unbounded Deathhealer
COMBAT ROTATION -
Light's Hammer - Use on AoE pulls. Hits like a truck and also heals
Consecration/Emanating Light - Use every 8 seconds. Reduces enemy attack speed and increases your damage dealt to targets within the AoE
Divine Storm - Use whenever available. This will be your primary method of triggering Seal of Command. Also heals for 11% of its damage dealt.
Exorcist's Slash - Use immediately after casting Divine Storm to hopefully proc the 5sec reduced CD on Divine Storm
Crusader Strike - Spam this as your filler
Judgement of Light - Use in bigger pulls to proc the heal effect... extra bonus if you happen to pick up the "Heart of the Crusader" talent for AoE judgements
Victory Rush - Use when health is low. VR doesn't trigger any effects so only use it if you think you need the extra healing
Light of The Guardian - Use only when health is low. It's not a strong heal but it helps! Also deals a small amount of damage but large amounts of threat
STAT PRIORITY -
Hit > Strength > Spell Power > Crit > Parry > Damage Reduction
1. Hit cap - Many of the triggered effects for this build rely on successfully hitting your target(s). So DON'T miss !!
2. Strength - The talent setup also causes Strength to boost your Parry chance, Crit chance, Bonus Healing, Holy Spell Damage, and Armor.
3. Spell Power - 90% of damage dealt will be Holy and the passive heals will scale off both AP and SP.
4. Crit - Divine Storm is often your #1 damage AND healing button. Critical strikes are important !!
5. Parry - In order to trigger the Critical Blademaster and Divine Blademaster procs you need to parry often
6. Damage Reduction - Ascended Raid bosses hit HARD, so taking % damage reduction talents remove BIG chunks of incoming damage
