How To: Prestige

This guide to Prestige Leveling, will be going from the assumption that you'll be having an Aura of Experience and Potion of Experience active from level 1 to level 70, while these are never necessary, they will greatly speed up the time it takes to level these Trials, keep in mind that you'll be unable to use these if you're a fresh character, as interacting with your Mailbox will make you unable to activate a Trial.

We'll also be going with the assumption that you have at least 4 out of the 7 possible Prestigious Heirloom Items.

As stated in the title of this guide, this is purely for Alliance characters.
If you would like to copy this guide and make it for Horde characters, feel free to do so.

This guide was written with Prestige: Open World in mind, please don't attempt to follow this perfectly if it is not Prestige: Open World.
You've been warned.

We'll also be taking advantage of Wondrous Wisdomball, ensure that you or someone in your party has this pet.

Preparation and Priorities

Before we get into the Trials, let's make sure you've got a build path chosen, as I am writing this guide, I'll feel free to advertise my own Prestige Builds, they are available on the Seasonal Realm if you search for "Treaty" in the Hero Architect.

Follow those for anything you may need, Skill Cards and starter skills are listed in their descriptions.

For the sake of efficiency, before you prestige, acquire the following items;I recommend grabbing Portal Mastery as well for this route.

Try to have at least Flying Tome: Expert Riding to make The Burning Crusade (60-70) easier.

Northshire Valley: Level 1 - 28

Our Prestige will start in Northshire Valley, which is the Human starting zone, no matter which race you decide to go with, start heading towards Northshire Valley.

I'll list the quests and order of turn ins, but I will not go into detail on how to complete these quests, as that information is widely available throughout the Ascension Database, as well as the internet in general.

The Quests;

We'll be doing every quest available within Northshire Valley, try to reach level 28 before you continue to the next part.

These quests should be completed and turned in, in this exact order.

Redridge Mountains: Level 28 - 48

Once you've reached level 28, we'll begin our Redridge Mountains adventure!
as with Northshire Valley, these quests are supposed to be completed and turned in, in the order that they appear, however, unlike Northshire Valley, DO NOT turn in any quests except for "The Lost Tools" before you've completed everything.
Instead of doing a "Turn In" order, we'll be doing a "Complete In" order, only turn in quests marked with GREEN.
  1. Missing In Action -- This Quest is accepted within the cave you completed Blackrock Bounty. the quest should auto complete by the time you finish turning in everything.
At this point you should turn in the completed quests, and then continue from there.

If you're missing Experience at this point, you should try to get as close to level 48 as you possibly can. 47 & 50% is enough.
Before you leave Redridge Mountains, make sure you set your Hearthstone to this town.

Stormwind Stockades: Level 48 - 61

After completing all of the Redridge Quests listed above, we'll move to Stormwind Stockades, (this once again, assumes that you or someone in your party has Wondrous Wisdomball.)
During this Stormwind Stockades run, ensure that you complete all 6 quests, but only turn in the quests marked with GREEN.
The other quests will be turned in outside of Stormwind Stockades. 3 of them are inside of Stormwind, and 1 is in Redridge Mountains.

Once you've turned in The Fury Runs Deep & Crime and Punishment, start heading outside of Stormwind Stockades and turn in the remaining quests.
Ending with the one in Redridge Mountains which should make you reach level 61.

Netherweave Cloth: Level 61 - 66

Travel to each of the Alliance major cities;

Hellfire Peninsula & Zangarmarsh: Level 66 - 70

Start in Blasted Lands and head through the Dark Portal.

This is everything in Hellfire Peninsula, now fly towards Zangarmarsh - Cenarion Refuge.

Now either finish your prestige with random quests in Cenarion Refuge, or head to Shattrath and complete;
  1. Synthesis of Power -- If you're Scryer
  2. A Cleansing Light -- If you're Aldor

Congratulations on hitting level 70!

It should be noted, this is by no means the fastest or most optimal route, but it is the one I prefer and I do regularly.

Sadly, this guide is now pretty outdated, mainly because XP aura and XP potion aren't multiplicative buffs anymore. This means the guide will provide you with a lot less levels than before.

Also, the advice "Try to have at least Flying Tome: Expert Riding to make The Burning Crusade (60-70) easier." is completely wrong because the item requires lvl 70 to be activated and is thus completely useless: at lvl 70 it is way cheaper to learn Expert Riding from a trainer, and prestiged characters already have their own soulbound tome if they previously knew flying.

Tradable Flying Tome: Expert Riding should not be in the game at all, but it is what it is.
